Today, the Google Analytics team have announced 4 new enhancements to the real-time reporting feature. The improvements are:
1. Real-Time Event Analysis – Now you’ll be able to see events as they occur and filter them by categories and actions. You will also be able to determine whether certain visitor segments trigger particular events and debug event deployment in real time.
2. View Real-Time Activity By Device – This feature allows you to view and filter activity on your site as it happens on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
3. Real-Time Segment Shortcuts – View important realtime visitor segments without having to create a filter by setting up shortcuts with the new “Create Shortcut” tool.
4. Real-Time To Overall Data Comparisons – The final enhacement to real-time reporting is the ability to compare real-time data with your sites overall data. For example, you could analyse the contribution of mobile traffic to overall page views at paricular times of the day or after certain real-time events.
